TOMO
Medication Reminder Ring and Companion App
Bridging the gap between clinicians and patients with the use of simple, easy to understand interactions and technology.
Who is TOMO?
TOMO
Noun
Friend, companion, partner.
Let's see how TOMO is helping those around them.

As many as 50% of patients struggle with taking their medicine as prescribed.
89% of adults age 65 and older take at least one prescription medication, and 54% take four or more.

A study by the National Library of Medicine found 5 themes that related to how patients experienced medicine in their lives:
Life saving and indispensable
Normal and a daily routine
Confusing and concerning
Unsuitable without adjustment
Intrusive and unwelcome
These themes are heavily dependent from person to person, with their relationship with their medicine as well as their clinician greatly impacting medication adherence.
How can wearable technology be used to create a more open and honest relationship
between a clinician and patient?
Meet Tim
Age: 73
Profession: Retired
Tim is an active, energetic retired farmer that doesn't let his age slow him down. He enjoys going outside, but still finds difficulty navigating a smartphone and often forgets to bring it with him on his outings. As that is the only tool to him available to keep track of the several medication he has accumulated throughout the years, he wishes for an easier, more discreet alternative.
Meet Sarah
Age: 43
Profession: Clinician
Sarah is a cheerful and passionate clinician who is always eager to help her patients. She enjoys building open, honest relationships with her patients but there are still some who she feels a strong disconnect with. She hopes to find a way to build trust and lessen the burden of her patients.

Before the clinician gives TOMO to their patient, a 3-prong charger ensures a full charge and quick setup.
Creating an optional companion app for users who desire more detail and interaction with TOMO
DESIGN GOALS
